What is Swanson Vitamin B12?

Vitamin B12 is one of the most important vitamins the body needs. It contributes to the production of healthy red cells needed to carry oxygen around the body. You could suffer with vitamin B12 deficiency or other anaemias if you lack the right vitamins. Some of the symptoms of anaemia are: breathlessness; feeling faint; headache; poor appetite and Tinnitus (ringing in the ears). If you experience any of these symptoms, then you may be vitamin deficient.

A good diet containing fish, red meat (in particular liver) poultry, eggs and products containing milk, should provide the vitamins needed. Culinary tastes vary and you may not like, or cannot eat some of the above foods.

What is Swanson Vitamin B12 used for?

Vitamin B12 plays a vital role in the way the nervous system and the brain work. Deficiency in this vitamin is more associated with older people who are therefore more likely to suffer memory loss. Some inherited diseases like Imerslund-Grasbeck Disease result in the body not being able to absorb vitamin B12 efficiently. Regular doses of supplements may help with this problem.

If you have diabetes which is poorly controlled, you could experience one of the side effects resulting in nerve damage known as diabetic neuropathy. Research has suggested that when Vitamin B12 is used in conjunction with vitamin B6 and vitamin B1, nerve pain may be relieved.

Regular intake of Swanson Vitamin B12 could be an additional source of therapy, in successfully treating the following conditions:

  • Pernicious anaemia
  • Memory loss
  • Immune system
  • Heart disease
  • Inflammatory bowel disease
